Philips has combined a high-resolution PC video camera with a powerful software package to provide real-time off the desk scanning without the time or hassle normally required with flatbed scanners. This is because the text or image being scanned is visible real-time on your computer. This new package is called Vesta Pro Scan and makes full use of Philips' Vesta Pro camera, which can capture high-quality video at up to 30 frames per second, and powerful new software called PageCam, which has been developed by Xerox. Vesta Pro Scan makes scanning in pictures and text child's play and offers an easy-to-use, high-quality alternative to conventional flatbed scanners or keyboard. Once you have finished scanning you can adjust Vesta Scan's camera on its convenient high-mounted tripod and use it as a high-quality PC video camera.
