The McPC series of low-cost, fixed-configuration media converters can be mounted in any PC with a standard PCI or ISA slot. McPC is uniquely designed to provide a single conversion between: 10 Mbps Ethernet 10Base-Ttwisted pair, 10Base-2 thin coax, 10Base-FL 850nm multi-mode, 1300nm multi-mode and single-mode fiber, or 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet 100Base-TX twisted pair, 100Base-FX multi-mode and single-mode fiber. Each McPC is shipped with both an ISA and PCI bracket to easily fit either installation requirement. McPC is easy to install. It does not plug into the bus nor is IRQ utilization required and comes equipped with a standard 4-pin peripheral power connector that plugs into the PC's power supply. Twisted pair ports each feature an external MDIX switch for selecting crossover or pass-through twisted pair connections. Each twisted pair and fiber port includes LinkLoss and FiberAlert (fiber only) features that notify network managers of "silent failures" and assist in diagnosing problems on fiber optic networks. Low and high power single-mode fiber transmitters are available to suit a broad range of distance requirements, and fiber ports are available with either ST or SC connectors.
