This huge 36.4GB Wide Ultra SCSI hot-pluggable hard drive is designed for use with most of Compaq's ProLiant server and ProLiant Storage System lines. This drive has a third height form factor to expand the storage capacity of your Compaq system. Compaq drives undergo an intense qualification process that eliminates data integrity problems, firmware and O/S incompatibilities, and other causes of data corruption or premature failure. Compaq hard drives are specifically designed and tested for flawless operation in your Compaq equipment. By using a Compaq hard drive with your Compaq server, you prevent incompatibilities that can rob your system of performance or cause you to lose valuable data. The integration of hard drives in Compaq systems means that cables, SCSI ID settings, termination, hot-plug drive trays, and firmware are right for your Compaq server or storage system. Compaq's Wide Ultra SCSI hard drives are compatible with Compaq Fast/Wide and Wide Ultra SCSI controllers and can be combined with Fast/Wide SCSI drives on the same SCSI bus. Wide Ultra SCSI drives use the same cables and connectors as Fast/Wide drives. When used with Compaq's Smart array controllers and Insight Manager, the SMART-capable firmware in Compaq hard drives enables extensive fault prediction. If potential problems develop in the drive, Insight Manager lets you know in advance so you can have the drive replaced before it fails, under the Compaq Pre-Failure Warranty. This warranty ensures that when you are notified that a critical server component may fail, Compaq will replace the component. This drive is hot-swappable which allows you to install or remove it online. Compaq's holds its hot-swappable hard drives to rigorous standards for both reliability and performance. These drives are intended for use in the most demanding, data-critical enterprise environments and are ideal for use in RAID applications.
