Jam is Macintosh CD-Recordable (CD-R) software for creating professional quality audio CDs. Jam uses sound files on hard disk, such as AIFF, SDII or WAV files, to create audio tracks on CD. The software enables you to 'premaster' audio CDs on your hard disk; in other words, to prepare sound files for recording in audio CD format. The resultant file, called an 'audio disc image', can then be sent to a CD mass replication facility, or you can use Jam to create CDs in your own studio using a CD-R or CD-RW compact disc recorder.
