Compact, quiet and PoE make SMC's new EZ Switch 10/100/1000 8-port smart switch a practical solution for getting Gigabit connectivity where it's needed most. The SMC-EZ Switch 10/100/1000 SMCGS8P-Smart Gigabit PoE Switch is a 1RU 8-port Smart Managed 10/100/1000 switch that brings the speed of Gigabit copper connectivity to the desktop with the flexibility that comes with Power over Ethernet and the ease of Web-based configuration. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support reduces network installation costs and complexities by enabling the switch to provide power through the Category 5 cable connections, so there's no need to place network devices near a power outlet or run separate power lines to them. Network devices such as Wireless Access Points, IP phones and IP cameras are perfect for installation using PoE. PoE support is complimented in the GS8P-Smart by Quality of Service (QoS) for Voice and Data integrity and VLANs for enhanced Security at the edge of the network. Ideal for the desktop, wiring closet - or anywhere - SMC's SMCGS8P-Smart makes device placement flexible, and a Web-based management user interface makes setup and management fast and easy, so 9k Jumbo Frame Support, Trunking, PoE configuration and more are easy to set up and monitor.
