With the miroVIDEO DC1000, Pinnacle Systems offers a non-linear video editing system that meets the highest quality standard for MPEG-2 productions. The standard according to which the miroVIDEO DC1000 works is known as “4:2:2 Profile at Main Layer"; its abbreviation, 422P@ML, is considered to be a mark of ideal qualitative prerequisites for non-linear video editing. Besides standardisation and data compatibility, the essential advantage of MPEG-2 is a highly efficient compression method that affects respective groups of pictures (GOP) of the original material when generating the digital data stream. Equipped with SmartGOP technology, the miroVIDEO DC1000 can edit MPEG-2 videos frame-by-frame even within the compressed groups of pictures. What makes this product special, however, is its incorporation of classic post-production in real time – in other words, without time-consuming software rendering.
