The QP-112AL has evolved into a popular system that features an audio/video receiver and DVD video player in a stylish gray and silver finish. The audio/video receiver (RX-E112R) and DVD video player (XV-E112) have a gray acrylic front panel that matches most TVs and VCRs. QP-112AL is completed by a quintet of satellite speakers (SP-X100) for front, center and rear sound and a powered 60W subwoofer (SP-PW100). Together, the components in the QP-112AL form a smart ensemble, perfectly matching today's lifestyles. They are designed to complement each other and their surroundings. What's more, separate chassis construction means both the highest performance and endless flexibility. The audio/video receiver RX-E112R comes with two distinct features for ease of connection and quality of sound. One is the four SCART connectors on the rear, letting you easily connect not only a DVD player but also a TV, a VCR and a settop box (for a satellite tuner, cable system, etc.). All connectors are RGB-compatible to provide crisp images and pure colors. The other is the Dolby Digital/DTS/Dolby Pro Logic II decoders and 5-channel power for the latest in quality home cinema sound. The new Dolby Pro Logic II is an improvement over the original Dolby Pro Logic, which gives you the full range of multichannel surround sound from any stereo source. The Movie mode optimizes the Dolby Surround soundtracks of movies, while the Music mode creates a rich and enveloping surround ambience from stereo sources. Among other notable features is the TV Direct Mode that lets you cut the power to the satellites/subwoofer when you don't need them. This is useful when watching news and dramas where surround sound is not necessary. In this mode, the control center's amplifier is set to stand-by to economize power. Moreover, the audio/video receiver is compatible with T-V Link to allow you to operate your TV and VCR through it. The remote control is a convenient multi-brand model with preset codes for VCRs, TVs, DVD players and settop boxes from major brands. DAP (Digital Acoustics Processor) is included for realistic sound reproduction - allowing you to choose the type of sound simulation (Hall/Dance/Live/All Channel) that you want to hear. The DVD video player XV-E112 is capable of playing compiled CD-R and CD-RW discs as well as ordinary CDs and DVDs. It also comes equipped with an MP3 decoder to play MP3 sound files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. It includes features for improved picture and sound quality such as a 10-bit/27MHz video D/A converter, a 96kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter and optical/coaxial digital outputs. Digital connection between the DVD player and built-in decoder ensures the most dynamic 5.1-channel surround sound from movies and music programs. The five satellite speakers (SP-X100) each feature a semioval-shaped enclosure and twin 5cm full-range units for an expanded sound and improved clarity. And the large-diameter (16cm) subwoofer (SP-PW100) has its own amplifier (60W max.) for clean, dynamic bass.
