Intel LANDesk Targeted Multicasting Software simplifies IP multicasting via a process that eliminates the need to configure routers and upgrade network infrastructure. Integration with Intel LANDesk Management Suite, an award-winning desktop and server management solution, provides access to a flexible scheduler that allows you to determine when an application should be distributed. Unique to Intel LANDesk Management Suite's software distribution with Targeted Multicasting Software is the ability to perform hardware and software inventory-based targeting of clients. Intel LANDesk Targeted Multicasting Software ensures fast software distribution on LANs and WANs, including slow WAN links. Intel LANDesk Management Suite uses HTTP 1.1 for fast and reliable transfers along with targeted multicasting technology to reduce network traffic and improve bandwidth availability. Targeted multicasting requires that data be transferred only once across the network per subnet. Without targeted multicast, all data is transferred across the network for each client that is to receive a package.
