It is an external SCSI cable with Intelligent terminator. Intelligent terminator automatically senses when the cable has been disconnected and terminates the SCSI bus allowing a failed server to be removed from the cluster configuration while simultaneously maintaining high availability. An LED (light emitting diode) will glow to verify that the auto-sensing termination has been enabled. It automatically senses power or connection loss to support failover in two-node clustering environments. The Auto-Sensing Cable provides automatic SCSI bus termination when the cable is physically disconnected from a Netfinity or PC Server node attached to a Netfinity EXP10 storage expansion unit. The cable contains an auto-sensing SCSI bus terminator with LED. This termination is required in a high-availability, cluster solution to allow a surviving node to maintain access to the shared-disk storage of the Netfinity EXP10 when the auto-sensing cable is disconnected from the IBM ServeRAID II Ultra SCSI Adapter installed in a failed server node.
