The Matrix N1 chassis design provides a single slot for a new advanced generation of modules, the Matrix DFE series modules. All DFE modules, including PoE, are supported, however, the 7C111 chassis does not supply PoE power to PoE-capable DFE modules. Modules installed in the Matrix N1 chassis interface to the chassis backplane utilizing the FTM2 connector. The Matrix N1 chassis: allows hot swapping of the DFE modules; supports two redundant, load-sharing power supplies; and can be installed as a freestanding unit or installed into a standard 48.26 centimeter (19 inch) rack. All active components for the N1 chassis are located on the back side of the chassis for increased safety.
