The Compaq USB Powered Hub offers flexible connectivity for USB peripherals. The Compaq USB Powered Hub is for users that need flexible connectivity for their USB peripherals. The Compaq USB Powered Hub is designed to fit into a USB ready Compaq Monitor base to offer optional USB connectivity. Compaq monitors reserve a small space at the base of the monitor where the optional USB Hub can be inserted. This powered hub features one downstream (to PC) and four upstream (to peripherals like mouse, scanner, etc.) ports. Without building in the cost of a USB-hub in each monitor, this option allows the USB user to plug it only into the monitor that they elect. The Compaq USB Powered Hub supports 12 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps. Both modes can be simultaneously supported in the USB system by mode switching between transfers in a device transparent manner.
