The Avaya Wireless AP-3 802.11a Kit expands the capabilities of the Avaya Wireless AP-3 Access Point to include support for the IEEE 802.11a standard. This new 54 Mbps technology provides faster connectivity to network resources. The AP-3 802.11a kit can be installed in existing AP-3 Access Points running 802.11b clients. In this configuration, the AP-3 is acting as a bridge connecting users running on 802.11b (11Mbps), 802.11a (54Mbps) and LAN (10/100 Mbps). The Avaya Wireless 802.11a Kit offers high speed wireless connections of 54 Mbps for existing Avaya AP-3 Access Points currently running at 11 Mbps (802.11b). Customers can now migrate their heavy users into the 802.11a network to improve their performance, thus, the entire wireless network will experience better performance and be more effective.
