Built from the ground up to provide multiple levels of security, the FriendlyNET Internet Router with Firewall is designed around a natural firewall that protects your local computers from outside intruders. The security-hardened FriendlyNET router is the only IP network address exposed to the outside elements. The new FR1004 router incorporates a detailed activity log that shows all network logins - including intrusion attempts. The integrated firewall is rated "Full Stealth Mode" with popular "Shields Up! Tests", and finally, the new Secure Packet Inspection (SPI) feature gives you even greater security by filtering both incoming and outgoing data packets running through the router. Unlike other Internet routers, the FriendlyNET FR1004 was designed for maximum network performance at an affordable price. Start with the integrated 4-port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet switch. When directly connecting two computers in the same room, network traffic moves at up to 100 Mbps (200 Mbps in full duplex mode) - ideal for backing up data from a notebook computer to a desktop machine. To anticipate your network expansion needs, the FR1004 series routers now support Asanté's new Auto-Uplink feature. Just uplink another 10/100 switch or hub to any LAN port on the router using standard Ethernet cable. You don't have to worry about uplink ports or crossover cables; the router does everything for you, connecting up to 253 networking nodes.
