I-GATE 11M is the solution in all cases where conventional Ethernet and ISDN cabling is problematic or where the mobility of the workstation computer is the primary consideration. I-GATE 11M allows up to fifteen PCs and/or notebooks to be networked without cables - and over a distance of around 30 to 100 meters. With an ISDN or ADSL connection there is also the option or surfing the Internet without the need for connecting cables or of using other ISDN services such as fax and file transfer. I-GATE consists of two components, AccessPoint and MobilePort. In infrastructure mode communication always takes place via the AccessPoint. The built-in ISDN Internet access router of the I-GATE 11M AccessPoints allows all network users simultaneous access to the Internet via the WLAN connection. If mobile computers are not all positioned within the range of an AccessPoint, further AccessPoints can be added. The AccessPoints then administrate the handover of the mobile computers among themselves. If the range of a radio cell is no longer sufficient to connect all mobile computers as a WLAN, multiple AccessPoints can be used.
