Pioneer gave the TS-W256C and TS-W256DVC (Dual Voice Coil model) an all-new design and bumped their power up 100 watts, to 800 watts max. Their cones are made of Pioneer's IMPP with Kevlar Fiber, for lightweight, rigidity, and extraordinary strength. A dual mass magnet assembly produces additional magnetic force - and more power, and the wire terminals (8-gauge max.) are spring-loaded for a lock-tight grip on your cable. The TS-W256DVC provides two voice coils, each at 4 ohms. This design offers you the flexibility of turning the TS-W256DVC into either a 2-ohm sub (voice coils connected in parallel) or an 8-ohm sub (connected in a series). So you can use a low-impedance amp to produce much bigger, much more powerful bass.
