The IRMA 3 Convertible adapter provides the hardware link for connectivity between a PC and an IBM Mainframe. It is the most widely used 3270 emulation adapter in the world due to its patented technology that lets you easily configure it for any 3270 connection requirement. Choose the most cost-effective cabling solution for your needs because IRMA 3 attaches directly to an IBM controller using either coax or twisted-pair cabling. For even greater flexibility, both CUT (single session) and DFT (multi-session) emulation modes are supported and it works with Attachmate, IBM, and other host access software. Software-loaded micro-code lets you upgrade IRMA 3 by simply installing the new features directly from a disk, freeing you from reinstalling hardware. An onboard microprocessor lets your PC function as an online 3278/79 terminal and as a PC at the same time, letting you take advantage of both systems' features.
